The consortium formed by the Boğaziçi University and six companies (GlakoLens, RS Research & Pharmaceuticals, Set Medikal, Bıçakçılar, Electrosalus, Telemed) operating in the sector of medical devices, pharmaceuticals and biomedical technologies were awarded with precompetition collaboration support under the scope of 2244 Industrial Doctorate Program initiated by TÜBİTAK. The rector of the Boğaziçi University (Prof. Dr. Mehmed Özkan) and the company managers received certificates from the president of TÜBİTAK (Prof. Dr. Hasan Mandal) and Minister of Industry and Technology (Mustafa Varank) to commemorate their support to this program. Özgür Kaya represented GlakoLens in the program launch ceremony.
TÜBİTAK 2244 Industrial Doctorate Program aims to increase advanced technology development capacity of Turkey by improving university-industry collaboration. As part of the 2244 program, talented doctoral students will be trained in a mixed industrial and academic environment. The transfer of these highly skilled personnel into industry is also supported for 3 years following the acquisition of their PhD degrees.
